What To Do When Android Phone Not Connecting To PC / Computer?
Enable Developer Options First
Developer options is one of the most useful and technical feature of Android phone. It lets you to use some more features which includes stay awake, password protected desktop etc. In order to enable developer options, just follow these simple steps
- Go to Settings or swipe down from top of phone and touch on settings gear icon.
- Scroll down and touch on About phone.
- Scroll down and keep on touching Build number until it gives you notification “You are now a developer!”

Now Enable USB debugging
Now you will see a new option called “Developer options” in the settings menu. To enable USB debugging go through these steps.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down and touch on Developer options
- Scroll down and touch on USB debugging. It will be activated.
Connecting to Windows: Now connect your Android phone with your computer using a data cable. After connecting your phone will receive a notification. Swipe down the notification drawer and touch on Transfer files (MTP). Your Android phone is now connected to Windows PC.
Connecting to Mac: Those who are using Apple Mac must keep in mind that Android file transfer is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or above and Android 3.0 or above.
First download and install the Android File Transfer on you Mac computer. Open android file transfer application on your Mac PC and connect both devices with each other using a data cable. Swipe down from top of your phone and touch on Transfer files (MTP). You can use Android file transfer window that pops up on your computer to drag and drop files.
Note: Your phone must be unlocked, once the phone gets locked the connection will be lost.
Still facing problem?
The above steps will probably connect your device to your computer, but if you are still facing problem, you may need to enable “Unknown sources”. To do this, just go to Settings >—> Security >—> Unknown sources.
Note: This will also allow your phone to install applications from an unknown source which may cause harm to your Android smartphone. Enable it only when you need.
